EO/Driver II
HPC Industrial, powered by Clean Harbors, in Robinson, Illinois is seeking a Class A Driver Operator to join a safety-conscious team.
About the role
The CDL Operator ensures the safe and proper execution of HPC Industrial jobs across all service lines. Responsibilities include supervising and completing single-task jobs with one crew, and managing turnarounds with oversight at client sites while adhering to company policies and client requirements. This role is ideal for transitioning military personnel looking to leverage their skills in a civilian career.
Responsibilities
- Act as the safety representative, ensuring compliance with company and customer safety policies, including hands-on operations, emergency response, and administrative functions.
- Operate and energize pumping equipment and vacuum trucks; inspect surfaces to ensure conformance with specifications.
- Perform routine maintenance on company equipment used on the job.
- Handle all duties associated with liquid vacs, including directing a crew of vacuum technicians.
- Transport equipment and personnel to and from customer locations.
- Complete pre- and post-trip inspections, driver’s logs, and comply with all vehicle policy and DOT requirements.
- Load and unload hoses; unload vacuum trucks at dump sites.
- Provide general field maintenance and perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Specific vocational preparation, including classroom safety training, on-the-job training, and relevant experience.
- English language proficiency to comprehend safety training and respond to emergency instructions.
- Valid driver’s license, CDL Class A, and compliance with company driving policy.
- Smartphone required for Electronic Logging Device (ELD).
- Federal Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC) may be required.
- Knowledge of emergency equipment operation, such as fire extinguishers.
- Experience operating a vacuum truck and equipment used in wet and dry vacuums.
Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED or equivalent experience.
- Class A License required; HAZMAT and Tanker endorsements preferred.
