Responsibilities
- Act as safety representative responsible for safety policies and procedures of both the company and the customer, including hands-on information regarding operations, safety, equipment, emergency response, and administrative functions.
- Operate vacuum equipment, hydroblasting equipment, and special equipment such as Ultra High-Pressure pumps.
- Energize pumping equipment and/or specialized hydroblasting, chemical cleaning, vacuum trucks, and cutting equipment.
- Examine surfaces cleaned to ensure conformance to company and customer specifications.
- Perform routine maintenance on company equipment.
- Perform duties associated with liquid vacs, air machines, and jet rodders.
- Direct a crew of vacuum technicians, as needed.
- Transport equipment and personnel to and from customer locations.
- Complete pre- and post-trip inspections, driver’s logs, and comply with all vehicle policies and DOT requirements.
- Load and unload hoses, and unload vacuum trucks at dump sites.
- Provide general maintenance in the field.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Specific vocational preparation, including classroom safety training, on-the-job training, and essential experience.
- Proficiency in English to comprehend safety training and respond to instructions in emergency situations.
- Valid driver’s license, CDL Class A or B, and compliance with company’s driving policy.
- Smartphone required for Electronic Logging Device (ELD).
- Federal Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC) may be required.
- Knowledge of emergency equipment operation, such as fire extinguishers.
- Experience operating a vacuum truck and equipment used in wet and dry vacuums.
Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED or equivalent experience.
- Class A or B CDL License required.
- HAZMAT and Tanker Endorsements preferred.
