About the role

Boeing Test & Evaluation (BT&E) is seeking an Environmental Test Technician (Associate or Experienced) to join our team in Berkeley, MO. The Boeing Test & Evaluation Thermal Test Engineering Labs support various defense, space, and commercial programs. Environmental test areas at this location include:

  • Acoustics
  • Airflow
  • Altitude
  • Dynamics
  • Fluids
  • Hypersonics
  • Pressure
  • Temperature
  • Thermal Management Systems
  • Vibration

In this role, you will assist in the instrumentation of test articles, organization of labs, and management of testing plans and procedures. Key testing areas include:

  • Aircraft Sub-System Testing: Environmental Control Systems and Fuel Systems
  • T-58 engine and Arc-Jet Testing: Unique Test Capability, High Temperature Testing
  • Thermal Testing: Environmental Chamber operation and test setup
  • Dynamics: Fixed base vibration testing and Ground Based Vibration Testing

This role is primarily first shift; however, there may be additional shift requirements to support program objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Supports activities to plan, conduct, and document tests on products, systems, components, materials, and manufacturing processes and technologies.
  • Designs systems, materials, components, software, and methodologies to meet customer requirements.
  • Participates in test design and performs routine procurement, fabrication, and assembly of components, test fixtures, and test systems.
  • Supports the coordination of test requirements and assists in reviewing test methods and capabilities.
  • Facilitates systems integration, fabrication, and modification; supports system pre-test setup, integration, checkout, and post-test tear-down.
  • Conducts routine tests, analyzes data, and documents results.
  • Troubleshoots and recommends resolution of basic laboratory and test-related problems.
  • Works under general supervision.

Requirements

Basic Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree or higher
  • Experience working with electronics and/or mechanical systems in design, fabrication, and test

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Level 3: 3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience troubleshooting avionic equipment, general electronics, and/or aircraft systems

Additional Requirements:

  • Must satisfy the Company’s Conflict of Interest (COI) assessment process.
  • Must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements as a “U.S. Person” (U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee).
  • This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
  • This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.
  • Employer will not sponsor applicants for employment visa status.

Pay

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. Summary pay range:

  • Level 2: $53,550–$72,450
  • Level 3: $63,750–$86,250
