Key Responsibilities
- Fieldwork will include operation/maintenance of equipment (e.g., power tools, gas-powered engines, high-pressure sprayers, backpack sprayers, and brush cutters)
- Operating motorboats, vehicles, including the towing of trailers
- Approximately 50 percent of the time will be spent assisting other staff with data entry, GIS work, writing technical reports and writing management plans
- Outdoor work will primarily be assisting other staff with environmental management (e.g., conducting herbicide applications and aquatic vegetation surveys)
Requirements
- Must have NC driver’s license
Qualifications
This is a seasonal position with the NC Aquatic Weed Control Program. This position is a blend of indoor and outdoor work. Traveling in state vehicles, including overnight stays, will be required.

Pay
Hourly Rate of Pay: $20.00 (Based on education and/or years of relevant work experience reflected on the application). Effective July 1, 2025, candidates now meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they have the minimum education and experience listed from the class specification.
Schedule
Seasonal position with the NC Aquatic Weed Control Program.
