Environmental Technician I

About the role

This position involves consolidating, treating, storing, transporting, and disposing of hazardous waste in compliance with environmental regulations and customer policies. The role requires physical activity, including lifting up to 50 pounds, operating forklifts, and other mobile equipment.

Responsibilities

• Lift and carry up to 50 pounds throughout the day
• Operate forklift and other mobile equipment to move containers between storage and treatment areas and to load and unload trailers
• Complete required documentation accurately, timely, and legibly in accordance with applicable regulations and customer policies, practices, and procedures

Requirements

• 2+ years of prior experience working with hazardous materials
• High School diploma or GED
• Ability to operate equipment, including a forklift and pallet jack

Qualifications

• Basic computer skills to complete web-based training
• Ability to understand and respond to written and verbal English
• Willingness to work nights, weekends, and variable schedules as necessary
• Ability to deal politely and professionally with customers and coworkers

Skills

• Understanding of environmental regulations
• Knowledge of hazardous material handling practices
• Ability to operate forklift and other mobile equipment

Pay

$21.75 per hour
