Environmental Technician I

About the role

This position consolidates, treats, stores, transports, and disposes of hazardous waste in compliance with environmental regulations and customer policies. The role involves physical labor and requires operating various pieces of equipment.

Responsibilities

• Lift and carry up to 50 pounds daily
• Operate forklifts and other mobile equipment to move containers between storage and treatment areas
• Load and unload trailers as needed
• Complete required documentation accurately, timely, and legibly according to applicable regulations and customer policies

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED
• At least 2 years of prior experience handling hazardous materials
• Ability to operate forklifts and other equipment
• Ability to hear vehicle warning signals
• Outdoor and indoor work experience in various weather conditions
• Willingness to wear personal protective equipment

Qualifications

• Basic computer skills for completing web-based training
• Written and verbal communication skills in English
• Regular attendance and willingness to work nights, weekends, and variable schedules
• Professional demeanor when dealing with customers and coworkers

Basic computer skills, understanding of environmental regulations, and ability to follow safety protocols are essential.

Pay and Schedule

The pay range is $19.00 - $20.00 per hour.

Schedule

Second shift from 1:00 pm to 9:30 pm.
