Environmental Technician I

About the role

This position involves consolidating, treating, storing, transporting, and disposing of hazardous waste in compliance with environmental regulations and company policies.

Responsibilities

• Lift and carry up to 50 pounds daily
• Operate forklifts and other mobile equipment to move containers between storage and treatment areas
• Load and unload trailers as needed
• Accurately complete required documentation in accordance with regulatory requirements and company policies
• Work outdoors and indoors in various weather conditions
• Wear personal protective equipment as required
• Communicate effectively with customers and coworkers

Requirements

• High School Diploma preferred
• 2+ years of prior experience handling hazardous materials
• Ability to operate forklifts and other equipment
• Ability to hear vehicle warning signals
• Willingness to work in non-climate-controlled environments
• Willingness to work nights, weekends, and variable schedules as necessary

Qualifications

• Basic computer skills for completing web-based training
• Ability to read and write in English
• Ability to attend work on a regular basis

Skills

• Understanding of environmental regulations
• Knowledge of hazardous material handling practices
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
