Responsibilities
- Separate line side recyclables per standards set by the Lead Resource Manager.
- Collect trash, recyclables, hazardous waste, scrap metal and other waste streams throughout the plant and transport to disposal container or storage room.
- Segregate, sort and package waste streams for off-site shipment.
- Load semi-trailers and roll-off boxes for shipment to recycling centers and any other disposal site.
- Document and inform Resource Manager of any contamination in plant’s recycling and waste containers.
- Maintain necessary documentation of waste/recycling inventories, inspections and other activities as required.
- Operate fork truck to load/unload trucks, etc.
- Follow all plant-related safety guidelines.
- Responsible for additional duties assigned.
Requirements and Qualifications
- A High School Diploma or GED.
- Previous experience handling/disposing of plastic and recycling.
- An equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education.
- Ability to read and understand basic equipment operating instructions, safe work protocols and adhere to the personal protection requirements of the assigned job.
- A valid driver's license.
- Ability to pass a background check.
- Ability to pass a drug test.
Preferred Qualifications
- A minimum of one year in an industrial, manufacturing setting or waste management setting.
- A current Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), desired; will be provided upon hire.
- A current 40-hour HAZWOPER, will be provided upon hire.
- A current Fork Truck Operator Training, desired; will be provided upon hire.
