About the Role

As our Environmental Services Technician, you'll keep our patient rooms and all areas of the hospital clean and sanitized to protect everyone from potential illness or injury due to infectious diseases or other hazards. You will perform routine cleaning tasks and use specialized equipment and techniques to further sanitize our facility. This role requires adherence to proper disposal techniques for biohazard materials, including bodily fluids or sharp objects. You may also refill supplies and deliver clean linens. Your thoroughness and commitment to safety contribute directly to the comfort and well-being of patients, visitors, and staff.

Responsibilities

• Complete daily occupied and discharge/transfer cleaning of patient care areas, equipment, and common areas using established healthcare disinfecting principles.
• Adhere to all safety, risk management, and infection control standards, including hand hygiene, isolation precautions, and the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Identify and transport various waste streams (regulated medical, recycle, solid, and hazardous) to appropriate disposal areas in accordance with regulatory requirements.
• Maintain cleaning carts and supplies according to standard work setups and safely handle all chemicals and equipment.
• Actively participate in departmental initiatives to improve the patient experience and cleanliness metrics.
• Refill soap dispensers, paper towel dispensers, and other supplies, as well as deliver clean linens.

Requirements

• High School Graduate or GED in General Studies.
• Previous healthcare experience preferred.

Pay

$15.00 - $17.75 per hour.
