About the role

The Environmental Services Technician at CHI St Vincent Hot Springs is responsible for keeping patient rooms and hospital areas clean and sanitized. This includes performing daily cleaning tasks like sweeping, mopping, and dusting, using specialized equipment, and following proper disposal techniques for biohazard materials.

Responsibilities

• Completes daily cleaning and disinfection of patient care areas, equipment, and common areas.
• Demonstrates knowledge of health care cleaning and disinfecting principles and requirements.
• Adheres to safety guidelines and infection control standards.
• Participates in performance improvement initiatives.
• Maintains cleaning supplies and equipment.
• Identifies and handles waste streams appropriately.
• Follows infection prevention practices, including PPE use.
• Collaborates with the patient care team.

Requirements

• No prior healthcare experience required upon hire.
• High School Graduate or GED preferred with previous healthcare experience.

Qualifications

• Thorough and committed to safety.
• Practices critical thinking and personal accountability.
• Recognizes and adheres to patient privacy requirements (HIPAA).
• Operates and maintains EVS tools and equipment.
• Mentors new Environmental Services Tech I employees.

Pay

The posted compensation range is $15.00 - $17.75 /hour, reflecting the lowest to highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.
