About the Role

A Geologist/Hydrogeologist responsible for evaluating and interpreting subsurface data, generating maps and cross-sections, and collaborating on environmental and geotechnical projects. This role involves field monitoring, data interpretation, report preparation, and providing recommendations for systems design on smaller projects or assisting on larger, complex projects.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and interpret subsurface field and sampling data, including soil and groundwater, to develop conclusions about environmental and geologic site conditions.
  • Generate subsurface maps and cross-sections and collaborate with engineering and environmental scientist staff on projects.
  • Oversee field monitoring and testing of soils, including boring investigations and soil type classification.
  • Interpret soil, bedrock, and groundwater elevation and quality data.
  • Prepare written plans and reports related to site investigations, assessments, and remediation activities.
  • Follow safety rules, guidelines, and standards for all projects; participate in pre-task planning and report safety issues to management.
  • Maintain quality standards on all projects.
  • Conduct site testing and make recommendations for systems design on smaller projects of minimal complexity.
  • Assist more senior Geologists on large, complex projects.
  • Perform site visits, field observations, and field data collection.
  • Implement technical requirements to complete client projects by directing and supervising field staff to sample, test, and collect data.
  • Develop written proposals for clients for approval by senior-level professionals.
  • Evaluate moderately complex laboratory and field data and assemble findings into written reports.
  • Serve as a team member or participate in client meetings pertaining to specific projects/tasks.
  • May oversee work performed by lower-level Geologists/Hydrogeologists.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, or a related field and a minimum of 3 years’ related experience.
  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history may be required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification in field of expertise.
