Responsibilities

  • Develops, maintains, improves and provides guidance on environmental processes/policies
  • Affirms environmental risk, provides recommendations to address risk and participates in or runs the approved course of action, including required regulatory documentation
  • Coordinates regular environmental planning, scheduling and cost estimating, including preparation of environmental impact assessments
  • Provides guidance and mentorship to others and is involved in industry associations and environmental communities
  • Led projects or programs with significant risk and complexity to achieve objectives; develops the strategy for project execution and handles resource requirements
  • Other duties as assigned

    Requirements

    • Environmental Specialist IV: Required: Bachelor’s degree and minimum eight (8) years’ environmental experience
    • Environmental Specialist V: Required: Bachelor’s degree and minimum fifteen (15) years of multifaceted environmental experience
    • Preferred: Minimum ten (10) years’ experience in environmental soil and groundwater assessment and remediation at CERCLA (Superfund) and RCRA sites

    Education/Years of Experience

    • Environmental Specialist IV: Required: Bachelor’s degree and minimum eight (8) years’ environmental experience
    • Environmental Specialist V: Required: Bachelor’s degree and minimum fifteen (15) years of multifaceted environmental experience

    Other Requirements

    • Demonstrates excellent organizational/interpersonal skills and safety as the utmost priority
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications and PC skills
    • Recognized internally at Williams as a leader in the environmental field and in industry efforts.
    • Develops, maintains, and continuously improves work-related processes and/or policies, and provides guidance, support and information to employees on such processes/policies.
    • Affirms environmental risk, provides recommendation(s) as to the appropriate course of action to address such risk and participates in or leads the implementation of the approved course of action, including development of required regulatory documentation.
    • Coordinates regular environmental planning, scheduling and cost estimating for either OA support or Business Development/Project support.
    • Provides technical expertise and knowledge to internal/external users.
    • Provides guidance to junior level specialists.
