Responsibilities
- Assists in development of briefing materials related to the Air Force environmental programs.
- Provides support to the data collection, analyses, briefing preparation, working sessions, meeting attendance and coordination.
- Provides analysis assistance of environmental and conservation regulatory issues, and legislative affairs which affect the programs.
- Aids in the preparation of policy and strategic guidance to evaluate and assess installation, command, and headquarters environmental requirements.
- Supports the coordination of efforts with other contractors, government agencies, and international entities.
- Coordinates studies and actions in support of environmental quality and other solutions for environmental requirements on military bases.
- Supports the compliance and conservation program document development, data review, status reporting, meeting support, briefing preparation, strategic environmental plans review and input, coordination of Environmental Quality Program, and strategic policy and legislative actions.
- Provides assistance on environmental quality strategic communications, including the development of strategic environmental campaign plans and coordination and development of strategic policy, and social media.
- Aids in the review of pending legislation and impacts to the review of funding appropriated to activities, legislative inquiries/actions effecting and subsequent responses.
- Helps in coordinating office visits, preparation for presentations pertaining to the program, and assistance in providing responses to state agencies in support of all missions.
- Performs other job-related duties as required.
- Mid-Level: Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, biology, chemistry, or related natural science field from accredited institutions within the 50 US State. Three years of DoW facility/infrastructure experience and five years of prior experience in environmental program management, or related experience is required.
- Entry-Level: Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, biology, chemistry, or related natural science field from accredited institutions within the 50 US State. One year of DoW facility/infrastructure experience and three years of prior experience in Air Force real property at base level, or related experience is preferred. Experience working in Hawaii is a plus.
- Experience and understanding of the military real property management processes, database systems, and reports.
- Familiarity with engineering and facility plans and documents.
- Working knowledge of NexGen IT and/or BUILDER is preferred.
- Excellent communication and computer skills; intermediate proficiency with MS Excel (e.g., filter, sort, pivot tables, conditional formatting, basic formulas); familiar with MS Access.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Candidates should have a valid US passport.
- Requires a Common Access Card (CAC) or the ability to obtain one through a federal security investigation.
- English language proficiency and/or fluency is mandatory.

Estimated Starting Salary Range for Environmental Specialist: Up to $95,000 Pay commensurate with experience. Full time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K and other possible benefits as provided. Benefits are subject to change with or without notice.
