About This Role
We believe people should love what they do – in this role, you will be responsible for:
- Examining work environments for various physical, chemical, biological, and environmental hazards and stresses and make recommendations for improvements to process and equipment.
- Submitting monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, or annual reports / permits to federal, state, local and corporate offices as required.
- Interpreting OSHA and Environmental Standards and regulations and maintain cooperative relationships with OSHA, OSHA-approved State Plans, EPA, and State Environmental Agencies.
- Analyzing proposed and final regulations for impacts to manufacturing operations that could require substantial capital expenditures or compliance challenges.
- Providing technical support in the transport of hazardous/regulated materials and wastes.
- Supporting environmental compliance initiatives to include waste management, air monitoring, stormwater monitoring, wastewater treatment, etc.
- Developing, implementing, and evaluating environmental training courses for supervisors and employees as needed.
- Examining work environments for various physical, chemical, biological, and environmental hazards and stresses (i.e. comprehensive risk assessments, exposure assessment, process hazard assessments, and ergonomic assessments) and make recommendations for the EHS improvements required of that equipment and/or processes.
- Aiding in incident investigations on injuries or illnesses and providing recommendations to prevent recurrences, using the root cause analysis method.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Engineering, Safety Engineering, Occupational Safety and/or related field.
- Experience: 3 or more years of Environmental Health & Safety Experience required (preferably in a manufacturing or comparable-risk environment).
- Software Knowledge: Microsoft Office Applications.
- Previous experience interfacing with Regulatory Agencies, such as US EPA, MassDEP, MWRA, and OSHA is a PLUS.
