Responsibilities

• Assist client with executing specific environmental requirements in support of their expanding construction program including:
• perform environmental reporting and project planning tasks in support of engineering, planning, and construction teams
• conduct detailed environmental analysis of facility master plans, including identifying and assessing environmental impacts of specific projects and activities
• conduct desktop environmental reviews of proposed project sites during project planning
• assist with appropriate levels of NEPA review for each proposed government action
• prepare and/or review programmatic Environmental Assessments and all necessary associated NEPA documentation
• contribute to RFP and scopes of work development and review of cost estimates
• support Federal client in engaging with the public and stakeholders, including drafting public notices, attending public meetings, and providing assistance with drafting responses to public comments
• coordinate and consult with relevant federal, state, and local agencies, including U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS), and State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO)
• conduct site visits to assess federal, state, and local environmental regulatory requirements
• review Phase II Environmental Site Assessment and Environmental Site Investigation reports
• review Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans
• assist with responding to environmental-related Requests for Information from construction contractors
• advise client on matters related to compliance with environmental regulations and standards.

Requirements

• BS Degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Planning or related field
• 5+ years NEPA and/or Section 106 experience in support of multi-$M Federal client construction programs. (8+ years preferred)
• Experience in producing NEPA-related documentation
• Ability to manage projects, interface with clients and enjoy being hands on technically in the project
• US Citizenship required

Desired Skills

• Broad knowledge and experience with NEPA/environmental compliance support for Federal facilities and related infrastructure construction projects
• Broad knowledge and experience with environmental investigations and cleanup for Federal facilities and related infrastructure construction projects
• Deep familiarity with environmental standards, procedures, and approval processes, including U.S. Coast Guard Environmental Planning Implementing Procedures
• Certification as PMP with the Project Management Institute (PMI)
• Developed soft skills working as part of a team with Federal client
• Excellent writing and oral communication skills
• Proven ability for performing in a lead capacity on a project

Pay

$74,800.00 - $130,900.00
