About the role

The Environmental Specialist supports the development and sustainability of CAIRE’s Global Environmental Health and Safety Management System (GEHSMS) with the guidance from CAIRE’s EHS & Training Manager. The primary focus is on environmental compliance, monitoring, and reporting at each site globally.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and sustain an environmental measurement system and data collection process for KPIs such as greenhouse gas emissions and hazardous air pollutants (HAPs).
  • Support continuous improvement projects to reduce CAIRE's carbon footprint, including streamlining logistics, reducing production wastes, and utilizing renewable energy sources.
  • Communicate environmental policies and standards to ensure their effectiveness and compliance with regulations and standards.
  • Provide technical advice and oversee performance against environmental compliance targets.
  • Manage SDS databases and track all safety data sheets (SDS) throughout facilities.
  • Participate in internal audits and training systems related to environmental and chemical hazard programs.
  • Ensure timely submission of environmental permits and reports to relevant agencies.
  • Assist in addressing deviations and violations identified during self-assessments and regulatory visits.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field aligned in Science or another engineering discipline.
  • Professional certification in Environmental Management (REM or CHMM) or ability to obtain such certification.
  • Strong knowledge of environmental regulatory requirements, concepts, and best practices.
  • Understanding of environmental issues, regulations, and technology impacting the medical device industry.
