Environmental Specialist
About the role
The Environmental Specialist will lead field teams on various projects in Oklahoma and potentially surrounding states, review and apply procedures for compliance with environmental regulations under NEPA, prepare technical reports, planning studies, and NEPA documents, and prepare regulatory permits and approvals in compliance with environmental laws.
Responsibilities
- Lead field teams on various projects in Oklahoma and potentially surrounding states.
- Review and apply procedures for compliance with environmental regulations under NEPA.
- Prepare technical reports, planning studies, and NEPA documents.
- Prepare regulatory permits and approvals in compliance with environmental laws.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a field related to planning or the environmental sciences.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience with planning and/or project development under NEPA, particularly with regards to transportation projects.
- Wetland and Stream delineation certification from an accredited source (40-hour course).
- Excellent communication skills and able to work on a collaborative team, both internally and externally, in both leadership and support roles.
- Proficiency in technical writing.
Preferred Skills
- Established knowledge of State and Federal environmental regulations and guidelines.
- Availability for occasional overnight travel (generally less than one week).
