About the role
Nucor Insulated Panel Group (NIPG), a proud Nucor product group, is one of North America’s largest and most experienced manufacturers of Insulated Metal Panels. With 8 locations throughout the United States and 1 location in Canada. This role would be supporting the NIPG Midwest locations in Shelbyville Indiana, Waterloo, Indiana, and Hamilton, Ontario.
Responsibilities
- Leadership role in promoting Nucor’s mission ensuring that safety is instilled as a value with a strong focus on environmental stewardship.
- Aid multiple locations in the division in maintaining compliance with air, water, and waste regulations, tank management, emergency plans, Risk Management Plan, and environmental management system (EMS).
- Ability to work in a team setting or independently on projects.
- Interact with various Federal, State, and Local regulatory agencies on permitting, compliance, and facility inspections.
- Submit required environmental reports to agencies including but not limited to: Air Emissions Inventory, Annual Waste Summary, Toxic Release Inventory (TRI), discharge monitoring reports (DMRs).
- Represent Nucor Insulated Panel Group at Corporate and Nucor Insulated Panel Group EHS meetings, training sessions, and plant audits.
- Track and submit division metrics as related to corporate requirements/President’s Environmental award statistics.
Requirements
- Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Two years of environmental compliance experience.
- Strong organizational skills and written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel and MS Outlook.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Valid Passport.
- Willing and able to travel in the US and internationally up to 50% of the time.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.
Qualifications
- 4-year degree in environmental, health, safety or related technical field.
- Solid understanding of environmental permitting and serve as a liaison for State and Federal environmental agencies
- 3+ years of environmental compliance experience in a manufacturing field
- Ability and desire to promote into a senior level environmental role at other Nucor divisions.
- Knowledge of NPRI, RPRA, EPA, OWRA, CEPA, Ontario and Canadian environmental legislation.
