Environmental Services Worker - Full Time Day

Position Summary

Performs daily cleaning tasks for resident rooms, nursing stations, lounges, restrooms, offices, and any other areas assigned in accordance with standard procedures of the Environmental Services Department and in accordance with facility standards and objectives.

Job Functions & Responsibilities

• Maintains as confidential patient information gained while performing duties.
• Performs all environmental services-related tasks demonstrating service orientation to residents, staff, visitors and fellow employees.
• Performs basic cleaning functions in assigned areas following established schedules and using prescribed methods.
• Cleans resident rooms, offices, corridors, stairways, furniture, restrooms, shower rooms, and other related areas/or function.
• Understands and reports the general need for repairs to equipment, furniture, building and fixture.
• Maintains assigned equipment for cleanliness and recommends repairs as needed.
• Maintains the linen room in a clean and orderly condition.
• In case of fire or other internal disaster, assists in the evacuation of residents.
• In case of external disaster, assists nursing in making up extra beds, prepares to deliver extra linen, and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Education Requirements: High School Diploma preferred
• Experience: 2-3 years as Housekeeping Worker or Laundry Worker, preferably in Health Care facility
• Employee Requirements: Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language fluently. Must meet or exceed all health standards and requirements for the position as established by NYDOH and all other regulatory agencies. Must meet the general health requirements set forth by the policies of this Center which includes a medical and physical examination. Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of thirty-five (35) pounds. Perform tasks that may involve exposure to the resident’s blood/body fluids. Must be able to assist in the evacuation of residents, if necessary.
• Working Conditions: Will work in a well-lighted and ventilated area. Will be subject to frequent interruptions. May be asked to work beyond normal working hours, and in other positions temporarily, when necessary.

Pay

Hourly Rate Range: $24.52/Hr. to $26.31/Hr.
