About the role
This position is responsible for performing general housekeeping tasks to maintain the facility and associated buildings in a sanitary, safe, and attractive condition and to meet hospital and Joint Commission standards. Located in the Environmental Services Department at Intermountain Medical Center in Murray, UT.
Shift Details
- Full-time, 40 hrs/wk (4:00pm - 12:30am)
- Required to work EVERY Weekend
- Eligible for shift differential due to working Afternoon/Evening Shift (10% for Swing)
Responsibilities
- Clean and disinfect assigned areas using department cleaning procedures
- Use cleaning chemicals properly according to Joint Commission and OSHA standards
- Understand procedures and properly dispose of infectious waste and trash
- Handle and clean up emergency spills per department guidelines, Joint Commission, and OSHA standards
- Follow all infection prevention practices (i.e. proper cleaning and disinfection protocols and process, hand hygiene, standard & isolation precautions, as well as proper donning and doffing of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE))
- Maintain work and storage areas following established policy and procedures to ensure safety
Qualifications
- Demonstrated communication skills to include differentiating color-coded labels and/or chemicals as well as following written and/or verbal directions
- Ability to work a flexible schedule when needed to meet the needs of the department
- One year hospital cleaning experience preferred
- Demonstrated professional housekeeping experience (preferred)

Physical Requirements
- Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and be able to assess customer needs
- Frequent interactions with customers require employee to communicate as well as understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately
- Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer, phone, and cable set-up and use
- Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transport, pull, and push equipment. Will also work on hands and knees and bend to set-up, troubleshoot, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items
Pay
Pay Rate: Depending on experience. Hourly range: $17.68 - $22.99.
