Environmental Services Technician II

About the Role

Shriners Children’s is seeking a part-time Environmental Services Tech (Housekeeper) to join the Portland, OR team. The role requires basic knowledge of good housekeeping and laundry practices, interpersonal skills to work well with others and communicate appropriately with other departments, and the capability to evaluate the quality of services provided. The position requires following Universal Precautions, Infection Control, and Safety guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Demonstrates required cleaning procedures in accordance with established Job Procedures for assigned work area(s)
• Demonstrates correct use of required waste-disposal procedures in accordance with applicable Environmental Services Department policy(ies)
• Demonstrates willingness and ability to accurately follow verbal, written, and pictorial instructions
• Demonstrates knowledge and ability to correctly and safely operate and care for housekeeping equipment per Housekeeping Equipment List filed in Environmental Services Office; able to identify and report equipment malfunctions/needs for repairs
• Identifies needs for building repairs in assigned hospital work area(s)
• Demonstrates knowledge of correct ordering of supplies, required par levels, and distribution of housekeeping supplies in assigned work area(s) (i.e., soaps, cleaning agents, paper products, linens, etc.)
• Demonstrates correct and safe dilution/mixing and use of cleaning agents approved/required for use in assigned work area(s)

Required Qualifications

• 1 year experience in environmental services/housekeeping or laundry

Preferred Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED
