Environmental Services Technician Housekeeping PRN

This position is responsible for performing general housekeeping tasks to maintain the facility and associated buildings in a sanitary, safe, and attractive condition and to meet hospital and Joint Commission standards.

Pay

$17.68 - $22.99 per hour, dependent upon experience.

Schedule

PRN (0-40 hrs/wk) DAY Shift (6:00am - 2:30pm), including some weekends as needed by the department. Most PRN candidates work 2-3 shifts per week and will know the schedule at least a week in advance.

Location

Primary Children's Taylorsville Environmental Services Dept., Taylorsville, Utah.

Responsibilities

  • Clean and disinfect assigned areas using department cleaning procedures.
  • Use cleaning chemicals properly according to Joint Commission and OSHA standards.
  • Understand procedures and properly dispose of infectious waste and trash.
  • Handle and clean up emergency spills per department guideline, Joint Commission, and OSHA standards.
  • Follow all infection prevention practices (e.g., proper cleaning and disinfection protocols, hand hygiene, standard & isolation precautions, proper donning and doffing of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)).
  • Maintain work and storage areas following established policy and procedures to ensure safety.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated communication skills, including differentiating color-coded labels and/or chemicals as well as following written and/or verbal directions.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule when needed to meet the needs of the department.
  • Professional housekeeping experience (preferred).

Physical Requirements

  • Ongoing need to see and read information, labels, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and assess customer needs.
  • Frequent interactions with customers requiring clear communication and quick understanding of spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues.
  • Manual dexterity to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy, including frequent computer, phone, and cable set-up and use.
  • Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transport, pull, and push equipment, including working on hands and knees and bending to set-up, troubleshoot, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Items may vary in weight, including heavy items.
