Environmental Services Technician

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Environmental Services Technician, you'll keep our patient rooms and all areas of the hospital clean and sanitized. This protects everyone from potential illness or injury due to infectious diseases or other hazards. Every day, you will perform routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, or dusting. You will also use specialized equipment and techniques to further sanitize our facility.

• Learn and adhere to proper disposal techniques for biohazard materials, including bodily fluids or sharp objects.
• Refill soap dispensers, paper towel dispensers, and other supplies, as well as deliver clean linens.
• Ensure thoroughness and commitment to safety.
• Contribute to the safety and comfort of our patients, visitors, and staff.
• Complete assigned daily cleaning and disinfection of patient care areas, equipment, and other common areas.
• Demonstrate a working knowledge of health care cleaning and disinfecting principles and requirements.
• Operate and maintain all EVS tools and equipment needed to clean and disinfect the environment.
• Mentor new Environmental Services Tech I employees as needed.
• Collaborate with the patient care team.

Job Requirements

• High School Graduate or equivalent (GED)
• Preferred: Previous healthcare experience
