Environmental Services Technician, Assisted Living - FT Days

About the role

Environmental Services Technician at GSS NE Hastings Villa Alf (931 E F St, Hastings, NE) is responsible for maintaining a safe and sanitary environment in patient/resident rooms and assigned areas for patients/residents, visitors and associates by following infection control, safety, and procedural guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Emptying waste baskets
• Sweeping, scrubbing, waxing, or polishing floors using brooms, mops, or powered scrubbing and waxing machines
• Demonstrating knowledge of housekeeping processes, tools and techniques in a healthcare environment; applying this to provide a clean and sterile environment for patients/residents and facility staff
• Cleaning patient/resident rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms, and other work areas to meet health standards
• Wearing proper protective equipment following appropriate guidelines
• Keeping storage, equipment and carts well-stocked, clean, and tidy
• Using pagers and other technology appropriately when needed
• Assisting in laundry areas as appropriate
• Using technology applications depending on location and availability of programs
• Performing physical activities including considerable use of arms and legs, climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, twisting, squatting, handling materials
• Lifting and/or moving up to 40‑50 lbs; pushing/pulling variable weight limits on flat surfaces or up and down ramps
• Being on feet for the majority of the shift
• Exposure to certain levels of noise from equipment operation
• Working variable hours that may include overtime, call, backup call, nights, days, weekends, and holidays based on patient/resident needs

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Minimum of six months housekeeping or commercial cleaning experience preferred
• Ability to use computer; prior cleaning
