Environmental Services Tech Lead

Job Summary

As our Environmental Services Technician Lead, you will lead the work of Environmental Services employees in the absence of the supervisor, ensuring the hospital's environment is consistently clean and safe. Every day you will oversee EVS operations, mentor staff, and ensure all tasks are completed to the highest standards, while continuously demonstrating courteous and professional behavior towards patients, physicians, visitors, volunteers, and other employees, aligning with the Hospital's mission, vision, and values.

Responsibilities

• Leading the work of others
• Scheduling
• Cleaning floors
• Damp dusting furniture and fixtures
• Making and cleaning patient beds
• Cleaning and emptying ash urns and waste receptacles
• Washing windows, walls, ceilings, vents and lights
• Changing light bulbs
• Performing non-routine floor care duties (buffing, shampooing, etc.)
• Inspecting and replacing curtains and cubicles
• Checking and stocking soap and paper supplies
• Hauling out trash
• Moving furniture
• Using various cleaning equipment, carts and products
• Following infection control/prevention practices and safety practices in all activities

Requirements

• Strong leadership and organizational skills
• A meticulous attention to cleanliness and safety
• A proven ability to motivate and guide a team while upholding the highest standards of professionalism and integrity
• Capable of performing job responsibilities in the EVS Tech and EVS Tech Specialist classifications

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED
• Previous healthcare experience preferred

Skills

• Understanding of either verbal or written communications and instructions
• Ability to interpret written warnings as posted on doorways and chemicals
• Use of judgment making decisions adherent to standards
