Environmental Services Tech Housekeeping PRN

About the role

This position is responsible for performing general housekeeping tasks to maintain the facility and associated buildings in a sanitary, safe, and attractive condition and to meet hospital and Joint Commission standards. Location: Intermountain Health Sanpete Valley Hospital, Mount Pleasant, Utah.

Responsibilities

• Clean and disinfect assigned areas using department cleaning procedures.
• Use cleaning chemicals properly according to Joint Commission and OSHA standards.
• Understand procedures and properly dispose of infectious waste and trash.
• Handle and clean up emergency spills per department guideline, Joint Commission, and OSHA standards.
• Follow all infection prevention practices (i.e., proper cleaning and disinfection protocols and process, hand hygiene, standard & isolation precautions, as well as proper donning and doffing of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)).
• Maintain work and storage areas following established policy and procedures to ensure safety.

Requirements

• Demonstrated communication skills to include differentiating color-coded labels and/or chemicals as well as following written and/or verbal directions.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule when needed to meet the needs of the department.
• Demonstrated professional housekeeping experience (preferred).

Physical Requirements

• Ongoing need to see and read information, labels, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and assess customer needs.
• Frequent interactions with customers requiring clear communication and quick, accurate understanding of spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues.
• Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy, including frequent computer, phone, and cable set-up and use.
• Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transport, pull, and push equipment; work on hands and knees; bend to set up, troubleshoot, lift, and carry supplies and equipment of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.

Pay

Hourly range: $17.68 – $22.99, based on experience.

Schedule

As-needed position requiring flexibility to cover various shifts including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Scheduled weekly hours: 0. Benefits eligible: No.
