About the Role
This position is responsible for performing general housekeeping tasks to maintain the facility and associated buildings in a sanitary, safe, and attractive condition while meeting hospital and Joint Commission standards.
Responsibilities
- Clean and disinfect assigned areas using department cleaning procedures.
- Use cleaning chemicals properly according to Joint Commission and OSHA standards.
- Understand procedures and properly dispose of infectious waste and trash.
- Handle and clean up emergency spills per department guidelines, Joint Commission, and OSHA standards.
- Follow all infection prevention practices, including proper cleaning and disinfection protocols, hand hygiene, standard and isolation precautions, as well as proper donning and doffing of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Maintain work and storage areas following established policy and procedures to ensure safety.
Requirements
- Demonstrated communication skills, including differentiating color-coded labels and/or chemicals, as well as following written and/or verbal directions.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule when needed to meet department needs.
- Professional housekeeping experience (preferred).

Physical Requirements
- Ongoing need to see and read information, labels, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and assess customer needs.
- Frequent interactions with customers requiring clear communication and quick understanding of spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues.
- Manual dexterity to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision, including frequent computer, phone, and cable set-up and use.
- Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transport, pull, and push equipment, including working on hands and knees and bending to set up, troubleshoot, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Items vary in weight, including heavy items.
Schedule
- Full-time, 40 hours per week
- Friday through Tuesday, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
Pay
The hourly range for this position is $19.29 - $24.38, dependent upon experience.
