About the role

The position is responsible for servicing hospital areas to ensure the safety, health and morale of patients, visitors and staff and facilitating patients' recovery by helping provide a clean, attractive, safe environment with minimal interference to others.

Responsibilities

  • Read and comprehend written instructions in English for daily communications in chemical labels, nursing units discharge board, area assignment sheets, department message board and bulletin boards.
  • Comprehend verbal instructions given in English for daily communications with nursing staff, co-workers, paging system/telephones, supervisor, interdepartmental staff, patients, and visitors.
  • Use and understand a Vocera or similar communication device.
  • Lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Wear a facemask as part of personal protective equipment.
  • Climb stairs and ladders for cleaning purposes.
  • Successfully complete a Fit-for-Work test.
  • Work a flexible schedule.
  • Be enthusiastic and have a positive attitude.
  • Have a bilingual (English/Spanish) ability, preferred.
  • Have housekeeping experience in a hospital setting, preferred but not required.

Pay

  • Starting wage: $20.00/hour
  • Entry salary dependent upon experience and skill set.
  • $2.25/hour evening shift differential when working a minimum of 4 consecutive hours between 3:00pm-11:30pm.
  • $2.25/hour weekend differential when working 5 or more continuous hours between 7pm on Friday and 7am on Monday.

  • Full-time (Evenings)
