About the role

Hillcrest Health & Living is seeking an Environmental Services Technician to join the team at Hillcrest Millard in Omaha, NE. Located in a welcoming, resident-centered environment, Hillcrest Millard provides short-term rehabilitation, long-term care, and supportive services.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain carpet care, including operating carpet extractors and performing preventive maintenance on equipment.
  • Perform basic environmental service duties, such as changing light bulbs, plunging toilets, maintaining water features, and cleaning windows.
  • Support outdoor trash collection, snow removal, and maintaining clear walkways.
  • Vacuum dining rooms after meal services and help keep public areas clean, stocked, and organized.
  • Aid with parcel deliveries and maintain par levels in storage areas.
  • Process guest suite laundry and assist with personal requests as needed.
  • Complete routine cleaning of service halls, public restrooms, and common spaces.
  • Assist with room changes as directed.
  • Remove cobwebs and nests around the exterior of the building.
  • Use equipment, supplies, and resources safely and appropriately.
  • Build positive, professional relationships with residents, families, visitors, and team members.

Requirements

  • At least one year of experience in environmental services, housekeeping, maintenance, hospitality, senior living, healthcare, or a similar role preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and safety.
  • Ability to work independently while remaining connected to the broader team.
  • A friendly, respectful, and service-oriented approach with residents, families, and team members.
  • Ability to manage priorities and remain calm when needs shift.
  • Dependability, strong follow-through, and a positive attitude.
  • Comfort using cleaning equipment, tools, technology, and resources efficiently and effectively.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
