ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES SUPERVISOR (Night Shift Supervisor)

Responsible for

• Keeping all areas of the hospital and associated buildings clean.

Supervises

• Makes schedules.
• Does bi-weekly payroll.
• Orders and distributes supplies.
• Handles EVS/Laundry personnel issues.

Work Schedule

• Must be flexible with scheduling.
• Able to work as needed to cover the needs of the department.

Essential Functions

• Understands and teaches how, when, and which chemicals are used to clean with.
• Teaches how to clean and prepare beds.
• Teaches how to clean rooms and bathrooms correctly.
• Cleans floors correctly and teaches others to do the same.
• Supervises others who clean offices and non-clinical as well as clinical areas and makes sure that it is done correctly.
• Supervises all aspects of laundry services.
• Checks all areas, on a regular basis, to ensure that they are clean and free of debris.
• Reports any problems regarding the Housekeeping Department to the Facility Manager.
• Supervises the maintenance of all floors to make sure that it is being done correctly.
• Manages the ordering and storage of all supplies and equipment used in EVS/Laundry.
• Manages the scheduling of the EVS/Laundry departments.
• Creates and implements appropriate Policies and Procedures to guide the safe and effective operation of the departments including training materials for new caregivers to learn how to work effectively in the departments.
• Responsible for the implementation of the organization’s Values and Behavioral Standards within the departments.
• Takes on-call for departmental needs.
• Maintains appropriate staffing levels and hires to maintain that level.

Education & Training Requirements

• Minimum High School graduate equivalent.
• Minimum of three (3) years supervisory experience, required.
• Minimum of three (3) years laundry and/or environmental services experience preferred.
• Computer proficiency.
