Environmental Services Supervisor

Job Description

Position Responsibilities:

• Ensure Environmental Services operations remain fully compliant with Joint Commission Environment of Care (EC), Infection Prevention (IC), and Life Safety (LS) standards.
• Provides direction in the application of Environmental and Infection Control standards and organizational goals.
• Collaborates with the Director to manage department operations through planning, direction, and problem solving, as reflected in service performance indicators such as NRC Patient Scores.
• Works daily with Nurse Managers and ancillary supervisors to ensure cleanliness standards and quality of EVS services.
• Aids leadership in explaining operational decisions to staff, medical staff, administration, and patients.
• Conducts routine rounding to verify cleanliness, sanitation, and infection prevention practices across all assigned areas.
• Remains available 24 hours for emergency situations.
• Demonstrates the ability to prioritize issues and resolve operational problems quickly.
• Follows up on unresolved issues from coordinators during off shifts or weekends.
• Maintains overtime levels within approved limits.
• Maintains the Bed Tracking System effectively.

Qualifications

• Licenses/Registrations/Certifications: Not applicable
• Education: High School Diploma
• Experience: Five years' experience as an environmental service coordinator, team leader or lead person in industrial/hotel or health care facility.
