Do you enjoy solving problems, investigating issues and working with people? An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our successful Environmental Services Enforcement Team. As an Environmental Services Officer, you will play a vital role in tackling environmental crime across the borough, helping to maintain clean, attractive neighbourhoods for our residents, visitors and businesses. At Test Valley, we take a proactive approach to environmental enforcement and have a zero-tolerance stance on offences such as fly-tipping, littering and abandoned vehicles. We are looking for a motivated, organised and resilient individual who thrives in a varied and rewarding role and can work both independently and as part of a supportive team. About The Role As an Environmental Services Officer, you will: Respond to reports of environmental crime and carry out site visits and inspections across the borough. Gather evidence and prepare case files for prosecution. Conduct interviews and engage with members of the public, businesses and partner organisations. This is a varied and hands-on role where no two days are the same. You will receive training and support to develop your knowledge, skills and confidence, enabling you to build a rewarding career in environmental enforcement. About You To be successful in this role, you will: Be confident dealing with challenging situations and difficult conversations. Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Be organised, methodical and able to manage your own workload. Demonstrate a high standard of customer care. Be competent in using Microsoft Office applications. Hold a full UK driving licence. Experience in enforcement, investigations or a customer-facing role would be advantageous, although full training will be provided.
