Environmental Services - Mechanic

Description of Duties

The Vehicle Maintenance Division ensures all City vehicles and equipment are safe, reliable and operating efficiently to support City services while minimizing downtime through routine maintenance and timely repairs.

Education & Experience

• Must have graduated from an accredited high school or have obtained GED.
• Must have minimum five years' mechanical or related experience.

Minimum Qualifications

• Knowledge of gas and diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, fire pumps and valves, generators, welding and municipal vehicle maintenance and repair.
• Working knowledge of applicable safety practices and hazards.
• Valid MO driver's license required.
• Must possess or obtain Class B CDL with air brake endorsement within six (6) months of hire.
• Must provide and maintain personal hand and air tools required to service City vehicles and equipment.

Salary Grade: 4
Salary Range: $42,800.70 - $59,246.18
FLSA: Full-Time, Non-Exempt
