Riverstreet Manor is a small nursing facility in the heart of Wilkes-Barre, currently hiring for a full-time, hands-on Housekeeping/Laundry Services Manager. We are looking for a compassionate and enthusiastic candidate to join our exceptional team of caregivers.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a high school education or high school equivalency diploma
  • 3 years of experience, including previous healthcare environmental services experience
  • Must successfully complete a post-offer, pre-employment criminal background check and physical/drug screen

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, develop, and direct the overall operation of the Housekeeping Department in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations to ensure the facility is maintained in a clean, safe, and comfortable manner
  • Develop and maintain written housekeeping and laundry services policies and procedures
  • Assist housekeeping and laundry staff in the development and use of departmental policies, procedures, equipment, and supplies
  • Submit accident or incident reports to the Human Resources Department within twenty-four (24) hours of occurrence
  • Assist the Infection Control Coordinator in identifying, evaluating, and classifying routine and job-related maintenance functions to ensure tasks involving potential exposure to blood or body fluids are properly identified and recorded
  • Inspect storage rooms, workrooms, utility or janitorial closets, etc., for upkeep and supply control
  • Review and develop a plan of correction for environmental services deficiencies noted during survey inspections and provide a written copy to the Administrator
  • Keep abreast of economic conditions or situations and recommend adjustments in maintenance services to assure continued ability to provide a clean, safe, and comfortable environment
  • Perform administrative duties such as completing necessary forms, reports, evaluations, and studies to assure control of equipment and supplies
  • Ensure services performed by outside vendors are properly completed or supervised in accordance with contracts or work orders
