About the role
The District Manager oversees the housekeeping and laundry departments across multiple skilled nursing facilities in an assigned geographic area. This role involves managing and directing operations to maintain cleanliness, safety, and quality of care.
Responsibilities
- Manages in compliance with company policies and procedures
- Visits each facility regularly to assess manager performance and provide feedback for professional development
- Maintains communication with clients to ensure satisfaction with Yona's services
- Trains staff on housekeeping, laundry, and floor care procedures
- Supervises and evaluates the quality of work from Environmental Services Directors and Supervisors
- Maintains sanitary conditions and ensures proper staffing levels at each facility
- Forecasts and plans purchases for cleaning supplies, chemicals, and equipment
- Interviews, hires, and orients new Environmental Services Managers and Supervisors
- Manages financial goals for each facility, ensuring a cost-effective program
- Maintains accurate records and conducts regular management meetings
- Ensures the department is ready for surveys and adheres to regulatory requirements
- Communicates with various departments to coordinate housekeeping activities
- Acts as a housekeeper, laundry worker, or floor care technician as needed
- Reports monthly initiatives, goals, and accomplishments
- Promotes resident satisfaction and actively participates in facility meetings and committees
- Supports the professional growth and development of the departmental team
- Conducts quality assurance rounds and inspections
Requirements
- Four-year college degree and related experience preferred; high school diploma/GED required
- Two years of experience in housekeeping services and multi-facility management in a healthcare environment
- General business acumen
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
- Excellent stress management and organizational abilities
- Ability to work around cleaning chemicals and lift/carry up to 50 pounds
- Public speaking skills
- Proficiency in Windows-based office software
