About the role
Washakie Medical Center seeks an Environmental Services Associate to join a cohesive, high-performing team. This PRN position covers varied shifts (7:00 AM–10:30 PM) to support the environmental services team in maintaining a clean, safe, and aesthetically pleasing environment for patients, visitors, and staff. The role is critical to infection control, safety, and the overall patient experience.
Responsibilities
- Perform assigned cleaning tasks, including dusting, mopping, scrubbing, disinfecting, vacuuming, and polishing, following departmental policies and procedures.
- Plan and complete daily cleaning tasks efficiently.
- Empty hampers, transport soiled linen, and remove trash from containers.
- Dispose of medical waste, including sharps.
- Inventory, restock, and replenish supplies such as toilet tissue, paper towels, and hand soap in assigned areas.
- Maintain cleanliness of departmental equipment and report necessary repairs.
- Protect equipment from damage through proper use and logging.
- Perform special projects, such as window washing, wall washing, or removing heavily soiled items.
- Respond to questions and requests from patients, staff, and visitors while meeting or exceeding customer service satisfaction goals.
Requirements
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision.
- Ability to interpret and respond to verbal and written instructions.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and via phone.
- Ability to read and understand material safety data sheets and instructions for mixing and using cleaning chemicals, including filling out chemical identification stickers.
Employees working in behavioral health clinical settings serving children or at Olive Branch Senior Center must possess and maintain an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card. An Arizona Criminal History Affidavit must be signed upon hire.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in environmental services or familiarity with cleaning equipment and techniques.
- Additional related education or experience.
