Location

The position is based at Platte County Memorial Hospital in Wheatland, Wyoming. Wheatland offers a close‑knit community just 70 miles north of Cheyenne and a short drive to Denver. Residents enjoy abundant recreational opportunities, including lakes, Laramie Peak, and the Medicine Bow National Forest.

Position Summary

The Environmental Services Associate performs all cleaning of patient rooms and assigned areas, helping to provide a clean, safe, and aesthetically pleasing environment while supporting infection control and safety procedures.

Core Functions

  • Perform a variety of cleaning tasks—including dusting, mopping, scrubbing, disinfecting, vacuuming, and polishing—according to departmental policies, and plan daily completion of these tasks.
  • Empty hampers and transport soiled linen.
  • Empty trash containers and remove all trash.
  • Empty all medical waste containers, including sharps.
  • Inventory, restock, and replenish supplies (toilet tissue, paper towels, hand soap, etc.) in all assigned areas.
  • Maintain cleanliness of departmental equipment and notify appropriate personnel when repairs are needed.
  • Protect equipment from damage through proper use; log equipment out and in as required.
  • Perform special projects such as window washing, wall washing, and removal of heavily soiled items or furnishings.
  • Respond to questions and requests from patients, staff, and visitors.
  • Meet or exceed goals for customer service satisfaction.
  • Serve internal customers—including facility staff, physicians, nurses, patients, visitors, supervisors, managers, and executives—and external customers such as visitors and employees from other facilities.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team without continuous supervision.
  • Ability to interpret and respond to verbal and written instructions.
  • Effective verbal communication skills, including phone etiquette.
  • Ability to read and understand material safety data sheets and cleaning‑chemical instructions, and to complete chemical identification stickers.
  • For positions in Arizona behavioral‑health settings, an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card must be obtained at hire and maintained throughout employment.
  • An Arizona Criminal History Affidavit must be signed upon hire.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous related experience and familiarity with environmental services equipment and cleaning techniques.
  • Additional related education and/or experience.

Schedule

This is a full‑time, varied‑shift position. Regular hours are Monday‑Friday, 11:00 am – 7:30 pm, with a rotating weekend schedule.
