Maintained Duties

• Collects trash
• Room setups
• Removes & delivers linen
• Performs regular housekeeping duties
• Performs special projects as assigned

Housekeeping Tasks

• Dust furniture, walls, picture frames, equipment, and blinds
• Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors
• Vacuum, sweep, and mop floors
• Clean and stock restrooms
• Collect and dispose of trash
• Discharge cleaning of guest rooms, nursing units, lounges, bathrooms, ancillary areas, offices, and any other areas assigned
• Transports large carts of linen to and from various areas of the facility

Compliance and Reporting

• Complies with OSHA’s regulations
• Checks and reports any findings of contrabands

Support and Inspections

• Ensures the exterior of the program facility also remains clean and clutter free
• Provides support and completes daily physical plant inspections

Professional Conduct

• Projects a positive professional image
• Adheres to organizational dress code
• Flexible to adapt to schedule changes
• Performs additional tasks/duties as assigned
• Fulfills NHF policies and procedures

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Minimum 6 months janitorial experience, in Healthcare or Recuperative Care (preferred)
• Ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks effectively and efficiently
• Some experience working in an environment with mental health, substance use disorder or related health care
• Knowledge of sanitation protocols and cleaning methods
• Ability to operate all types of housekeeping equipment (vacuum cleaners, floor machines, carpet extractors, auto-scrubbers, pressure/steam cleaning machine, etc.)
• Reliable transportation
• Bi-lingual in Spanish Preferred
• TB test required
• Fingerprint live scan /background required

Physical Requirements

• Frequent standing and walking
• Frequent bending/stooping, squatting, reaching above the shoulders, twisting, turning, kneeling, pushing/pulling
• Lifts/pulls/pushes/moves up to 50 pounds
• Utilizes conversational speech for effective verbal communication
• Noise level is high in some guest care areas
