Environmental Services Aide I

Summary

Responsible for performing work aimed at preventing the spread of disease by thoroughly cleaning and sanitizing areas, properly disposing of hazardous waste, and efficiently sterilizing equipment and apparatus.

Essential Functions

• Performs cleaning duties in alignment with organizational standards, established schedules, and infection control guidelines.
• Completes waste stream removal.
• Cleans and services assigned areas according to established procedures.
• Moves furniture, equipment, and supplies throughout Medical Center departments and performs a variety of cleaning duties to maintain a neat, orderly, and sanitary environment.
• Operates assigned equipment, including floor machines and buffers.
• Participates in a minimum of eight unit/department meetings annually.
• Maintains assigned patient and non-patient areas in a clean, safe, and sanitary condition at all times.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred
• Experience: Related experience 0-1 year preferred

Skills

• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and how to apply chemicals safely.
• Working knowledge of various cleaning tools like vacuum cleaners and floor buffers.

Schedule

Evening shift, weekends and holidays. 1:00 PM – 8:30 PM. 14 hours per week.

Pay

$17.71 – $22.15 per hour.
