Environmental Services Aide I
Job Summary
As our Environmental Services Aide, you'll clean and maintain assigned areas of the hospital in a sanitary, orderly, and attractive condition to promote a clean and healthy environment for all employees, patients, and guests in accordance with departmental standards.
Responsibilities
- Adhere to proper disposal techniques for biohazard materials, including bodily fluids or sharp objects.
- Apply specialized cleaning techniques to designated rooms and equipment.
- Replenish supplies such as soap, paper towels, and tissues.
- Deliver clean linens to patient rooms.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and infection control while following safety protocols and departmental guidelines.
- Consistently provide daily patient room cleaning, including trash removal, high and low dusting, dust mopping, mopping, bathroom cleaning, and replenishing dispensers.
- Provide discharge patient room cleaning including trash removal, sanitizing furniture, high and low dusting, wall washing, the stripping, cleaning and making of the bed, and replenishing supplies.
- Clean common areas and provide routine corridor cleaning in assigned area.
- Follow hospital and department policies and procedures to perform cleaning of support areas (offices, supply areas, nurses' stations, waiting areas, utility rooms, etc.).
- Maintain adequate supplies for standard precautions and properly utilize isolation techniques.
- Handle biohazardous waste properly including the changing of sharps containers.
Requirements
- Required: Fire Safety within 90 days
- PREFERRED: High School Graduate or GED
- Previous experience in healthcare environmental services

Pay Range
$25.00 - $26.11 /hour
