Environmental Services Aide - Full-Time Evening Shift (Stony Brook Southampton Hospital)

About the Role

This position involves general environmental duties including wall washing, bed and room cleaning, discharge cleaning, and trash removal. You will be required to work in the Operating Room (OR) and perform all duties associated with the operating room assignment. The role demands the ability to work with minimal supervision, prioritize responsibilities, and maintain excellent customer service skills in a team-oriented environment. Additional duties may be assigned by management as needed.

As part of employment at Southampton Hospital, there may be occasions when travel to other locations is required to support operational needs.

Responsibilities

• Perform environmental cleaning duties such as wall washing, bed and room cleaning, discharge cleaning, and trash removal.
• Work in the Operating Room (OR) and complete all associated duties.
• Operate with minimal supervision and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Demonstrate excellent customer service skills.
• Collaborate in a team environment.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

• Ability to read and write simple English.
• Understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
• Proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing English to comprehend in-services and department literature.
• Customer service orientation.
• Capability to perform heavy physical effort, including lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to stand, walk, reach, stoop, bend, and kneel for prolonged periods.

Pre-Employment Requirements

• Successfully complete a pre-employment physical examination and obtain medical clearance from Stony Brook Southampton Hospital’s Employee Health Services.
• Complete an electronic reference check with a minimum of three professional references.
• Successfully pass a 4-panel drug screen.
• Meet all regulatory requirements for pre-employment screenings.
• Provide a copy of any required New York State license(s) or certificate(s).

Failure to comply with the above requirements could result in a delayed start date and/or revocation of the employment offer. The hiring department will be responsible for any fees incurred for examinations.

Pay

Starting salary range: $24.61 - $26.46 per hour, based on relevant experience.
