Environmental Service Worker - Part Time - Days + Weekends & Holidays

Location: Flushing, New York – NewYork-Presbyterian Queens Hospital, 56-45 Main Street, Flushing NY 11355. This is a part-time, on-site role requiring registration with the 1199 Job Security Fund.

About the Role

Join our Environmental Services Team as a Housekeeper and play a key role in maintaining a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for patients and their families. Housekeepers ensure cleanliness, support infection control, and deliver compassionate customer service to enhance the patient experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness throughout the hospital, focusing on infection control and patient safety.
• Interact with patients and families with warmth, compassion, and professionalism.
• Follow specific oral and written instructions to uphold hospital standards.
• Provide outstanding customer service and contribute to a culture of respect and inclusion.

Requirements

• Strong commitment to delivering an exceptional patient experience.
• Ability to read, write, and follow detailed instructions.
• Customer service experience, preferably in healthcare, hospitality, retail, or a related field.
• High school diploma or GED is highly desired but not required.
• Must live within a commutable distance to NewYork-Presbyterian Queens Hospital.

Schedule

• Part-time, day shift: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM.
• Weekends, weekdays, and holidays required for the first two years.
• After two years, every other weekend is required.

Pay

Salary range: $23.47–$25.55 per hour.
