Environmental Service Technician

Available positions:

• Full Time 1st Shift - 7am - 3:30pm
• Full Time 2nd Shift - 2:30pm-11pm
• Full Time 3rd Shift - 11pm-7:30am
• Part Time - 20hrs/week 7am - 3:30pm (positions 20hrs/week or more are benefits eligible)

All positions require every other weekend and rotating holidays.

Responsibilities

• Clean and supply patient rooms, removal of soiled linen units, nursing stations, lounges, lavatories, common areas, floors, public bathrooms, offices, and any other assigned areas in accordance with standard procedures of the Environmental Services Department and hospital objectives.
• Floor care: dry and wet mop floors, buff floors with buffing machine, burnish floors with burnishing machine.
• Refuse removal: collect and transport trash, remove soiled linen and red waste (according to Main Line Health standards).
• Facility cleaning: wash walls, hang cubicle curtains, clean stairwells, and perform any other assigned project.
• Provide friendly, efficient customer service to patients, visitors, and co-workers.
• Maintain assigned equipment for cleanliness and report any machine malfunctions.
• Observe and report need for repairs of hospital equipment, furniture, fixtures, etc.

Requirements

• Minimum of one (1) to two (2) years of housekeeping experience is preferred.
• Previous experience using battery-operated floor scrubbers, buffers, and burnishers is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a High School/GED is preferred.
• Must have the ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Mechanical aptitude is desirable.
