Environmental Service Technician

About the Role

Franklin County Medical Center is seeking an Environmental Service Technician to ensure our facilities remain orderly, clean, and sanitary. As a non-profit critical access hospital with 20 acute care beds, 35 nursing facility beds, three operating rooms, and a recently constructed 24,000 square foot medical office, we are committed to providing excellent care for our community. Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of assigned cleaning tasks, including cleaning furniture; washing walls, counters, woodwork, and doors; sweeping, vacuuming, scrubbing, waxing, and buffing floors; cleaning restrooms; and cleaning drapes and blinds
• Supply restrooms with soap and paper products
• Maintain laundry by gathering and transporting soiled linens, sorting clean linens, and stocking linen closets
• Maintain cleaning records and report anything in need of repair

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Able to read chemical labels and instructions
• Able to use housekeeping equipment

Essential Job Functions

• Regular and predictable attendance
• Regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or twist
• Occasionally required to sit, climb, and balance
• Occasionally required to operate foot controls and equipment
• Frequently able to move, push, lift and carry up to 100 pounds
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision and color vision
• Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as situations require to maintain infection control standards
• Must submit to COVID-19 testing as required by CMS and other regulatory agencies according to FCMC policy
• Have full COVID-19 vaccination (some exemptions allowed)

Work Environment

• FCMC operates 24 hours per day each day of the year; operational needs may require availability to work all shifts, weekends and holidays
• Potential exposure to blood, body tissue and fluids, contagious diseases, and hazardous waste
• Occasional exposure to bodily injury, loud/unpleasant noise, unpleasant odor, emotional or physical stress

Schedule

Part-time: 20-29.5 hours per week, weekends (Friday, Saturday & Sunday from 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM).
