About the role
Responsible for the safety and cleanliness of a hospital or other healthcare facility. This position does not require direct patient care.
Responsibilities
- Sweeps, mops, waxes, strips, and polishes floors; vacuums and shampoos carpets.
- Dusts and polishes furniture, woodwork, fixtures, and equipment.
- Washes walls, ceilings, woodwork, door panels, windows, sills, blinds, and door glass.
- Empties, cleans, and sanitizes waste receptacles in assigned areas.
- Cleans and sanitizes restroom facilities and fixtures, including sinks, urinals, toilets, mirrors, walls, and drinking fountains; replenishes restroom supplies as needed.
- Picks up debris around the building.
- Operates and controls high and low-speed stripping/buffing machines.
- Sets up tables, chairs, and equipment for special events and normal hospital activities.
- Identifies and reports building maintenance needs in assigned buildings and facilities.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred (experience cannot substitute for this requirement).
- 2-3 years of experience working with cleaning equipment and chemicals used in hospitals and healthcare centers.
- Strong organization skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and comprehension skills.
Schedule
- 40 hours per week.
- Rotating weekends and holidays.
- Shift: 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM.
- Days off: Tuesday and Thursday.
Pay
Pay range: $17.71 - $24.28 per hour (Grade 2).
Work Location
Onsite at 15 Francis Street.
