Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced Industrial Hygienist to join our Industrial Hygiene & the Built Environment team in Michigan. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise in industrial hygiene, a strong track record in regulatory compliance, and the ability to operate as a trusted advisor to clients. This role requires a high degree of independence, leadership in project delivery, and the ability to manage complex assignments while consistently delivering high-quality, client-focused solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and perform comprehensive industrial hygiene assessments, including exposure monitoring for chemical, physical, and biological hazards.
  • Oversee inspections and sampling programs for asbestos, lead-based paint, mold, and indoor air quality (IAQ) concerns.
  • Design and implement remediation strategies, providing expert recommendations for hazard identification, mitigation, and control.
  • Prepare and review detailed technical reports, presenting findings and recommendations clearly to senior client stakeholders.
  • Ensure adherence to OSHA, EPA, and other applicable regulatory frameworks, acting as a subject matter expert in compliance matters.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver integrated environmental, health, and safety solutions across complex projects.
  • Provide strategic guidance on ventilation systems, respiratory protection programs, and hazard communication initiatives.
  • Contribute to business development efforts by supporting key client relationships, participating in client meetings, and assisting in proposal development.

Qualifications

  • Required:
  • Education: Degree in Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Health, Occupational Safety, or related field
  • Experience: 5–10 years of industrial hygiene experience, preferably in a consulting environment
  • Certifications: One or more of the following certifications will be an advantage: Asbestos Inspector, Management Planner, Project Designer, Supervisor, Air Sampling Professional, Lead-based paint risk assessor certification, Mold and IAQ assessment experience
  • Knowledge: Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and industrial hygiene principles
  • Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to present findings to clients
  • Other: Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently with minimal supervision

Pay and Schedule

A reasonable estimate of the salary range for this role is $90,000 - $115,000. Any offered salary range is based on a wide array of factors including but not limited to skillset, experience, training, location, scope of role, management responsibility, etc.
