Our Opportunity
We are currently seeking an Environmental Scientist/Engineer for a Manager-level role in our Environmental and Earth Sciences Practice in Burlington, MA. In this role, you will work as part of a team to provide technical analysis on existing projects and business development efforts.
Responsibilities
- Reconstructing of historical industrial operations/waste management and evaluation of subsurface (e.g., soil, groundwater, sediment) environmental conditions and data to identify contaminant sources, causation, timing, fate, and transport
- Synthesizing historical operational, technical, and environmental regulatory information, as well as applying critical thinking to prepare and review reports and technical analyses/presentations
- Analyzing and developing conceptual remedial designs and cost estimates
- Working cooperatively on multidisciplinary projects with other members of the Environmental and Earth Sciences Practice and interdisciplinary groups from other Exponent practices as appropriate
- Investing in your professional development
- Attending conference presentations and participating in journal publications
- Expanding your professional visibility
- Developing client relationships and building business in the Environmental and Earth Sciences Practice
Qualifications
- M.Sc., M.Eng., or Ph.D. in Civil or Environmental Engineering, Environmental Chemistry, or a related field
- 3+ years of non-academic experience in the field of environmental sciences or environmental engineering at a consulting company in the United States is required
- Familiarity with the preparation and interpretation of field environmental logs
- Familiarity with environmental chemistry and contaminant fate and transport
- Familiarity with environmental litigation, field investigation/remediation, and cost allocation experience are a plus
- Strong interest in career and professional development within a dynamic consulting environment
- Excellent communication, organization, and writing skills
- Detail-oriented, able to work independently, and manage time effectively
- Strong ability to prioritize multiple projects with competing deadlines
