What You’ll Do
- Lead and contribute to a variety of environmental projects, including: Telecom NEPA reports, Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs), and field investigations and site assessments.
- Cookordinate project teams and help drive projects from initiation through completion.
- Perform site observations, inspections, and reporting.
- Provide consulting services and technical expertise to clients.
- Support project oversight, implementation, and delivery of high-quality results.
Key Responsibilities & Experience Opportunities
- You’ll play a hands-on role delivering impactful environmental services by performing Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) and National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) reviews.
- Your work will span important regulatory programs, including Section 7 of the Endangered Species Act, Section 404 Permitting, and Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA).
- Conduct desktop research of readily available resources to evaluate project sites for the presence of natural and/or cultural resources and potential environmental issues and compliance with state, local and federal regulations.
- Consult with other technical professionals and supervisor on routine and complex projects.
- Perform site visits, field observations and field data collection; analyzing data and reporting results.
- Manage permit applications and technical document reviews, including proposals, reports, and regulatory agency correspondence.
- Conduct field investigations, including soil, groundwater and vapor sampling.
- Analyze environmental data and interpret results.
- Research historical and regulatory records.
- Coordinate with regulatory agencies and key stakeholders.
- Follow safety rules, guidelines and standards for all projects. Participate in pre-task planning. Report any safety issues or concerns to management.
- Be responsible for maintaining Terracon’s established quality standards on all projects.
- Prepare clear, concise technical reports that translate complex environmental concepts into actionable insights for clients.
- Performs other office, laboratory or field studies and duties that may be assigned by more senior level professional staff or the Department and/or Regional Manager.
This position offers a great balance of fieldwork and office-based analysis, allowing you to build a well-rounded consulting skillset.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Geology, Natural Resources Management, Biology, or related natural science field.
- Two years of experience is preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history.
