Overview
Kimley-Horn has a challenging and rewarding opportunity for a motivated Project Manager to help lead the Environmental Services team in Indianapolis, Indiana (IN).
Responsibilities
- Lead an environmental team while building and managing relationships with key clients.
- Promote the growth of the local environmental team and mentor existing environmental staff.
- Support other practices in the office and region to deliver environmental-focus work.
- Operate with integrity and sound business principles.
- Provide practice vision, business planning and strategy, establishing goals, building, and maintaining positive client relationships.
- Open communication with partners and team, along with growing and directing an Environmental Services practice.
- Manage projects profitably, transition work to qualified staff, help recruit, and be a positive role model.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's (BS) or Master's (MS) in the Life Sciences, Environmental Science, Environmental Policy, Transportation Planning, Urban Planning, Engineering, or related degree.
- 5 or more years of relevant experience managing environmental tasks/projects in Indiana.
- Relevant professional certifications (AICP, PWS, CPESC, etc.) are desirable, but not required.
- Client contacts and relationships with local, regional, or state agencies.
- Business development skills and the proven ability to win work.
- Experience with NEPA processes.
- Experience in natural resources assessments and field investigations, including preparation of wetlands/waters delineation reports.
- Experience with environmental permitting rules and regulations.
- Experience with geographic information systems (GIS), specifically ArcGIS and/or CAD.
- Experience writing proposals, scopes of work, and budgets for projected work.
- Ability to effectively communicate at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to manage & mentor staff, and direct resources effectively in a positive manner.
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects profitably.
