We’re seeking an experienced project manager with a background in environmental site characterization and remediation to support the delivery of challenging projects for government and global private sector clients. Based in southern California, you’ll work on remediation projects in California, growing your career while interacting with key client representatives, recognized technical experts, and developing comprehensive site strategies. You’ll collaboratively manage project teams, including field and office-based staff, senior technical consultants, and subject matter experts, to deliver environmental projects with a strong focus on remediation.

Projects require thoughtful strategy development, leveraging technical expertise, and collaboration with clients and stakeholders, all delivered with high safety, compliance, and quality standards. You’ll help drive consistency and innovation across site characterization and remediation projects, supporting your team in achieving clients’ goals.

This position is located in Los Angeles, Irvine, or San Diego, California, with flexibility to work from the office, home, and project sites to meet project delivery goals while maintaining balance.

Responsibilities

• Manage project teams, including field and office-based staff, senior technical consultants, and subject matter experts, to deliver environmental remediation projects.
• Develop and implement comprehensive site strategies for challenging environmental sites.
• Conduct site investigations/characterizations, remedial investigations, feasibility studies, engineering evaluations, remedial designs/actions, and optimize remediation systems.
• Identify and resolve key issues impacting environmental remedy implementation (technical, regulatory, risk, land use, etc.).
• Provide client consulting services and represent clients to stakeholders such as regulatory agencies, property owners, government officials, and other consultants.
• Ensure projects meet high safety, compliance, and quality standards expected by Jacobs and clients.
• Support and engage with Global Integrated Delivery (GID) teams to maximize project outcomes through design, digital technology, and support capabilities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in geology, environmental engineering, civil engineering, geotechnical engineering, or a closely related field.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) or Professional Geologist (PG) license.
• Experience as a project manager at large, complex sites involving multiple operable units, non-aqueous phase liquid, and contaminated soil, sediment, and groundwater.
• Familiarity with federal and California state regulations, including CERCLA, RCRA, UST, and other related regulatory frameworks.

Pay

The base salary range for this position is $128,200.00 to $193,930.00. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Schedule

Hybrid working policy allowing employees to split their work week between Jacobs offices, project sites, and remote locations.
